The All-Star Break 2000

Well, I got off to a 2-1 start and figured, hey, why not spend some time and effort on this thing and see what I could really do. I spent probably a half-hour each of the first two days handicapping the full 15 game schedules. Time and effort would mean I would have to bump up my efforts to maybe an hour a day, and initially because I did not track the first half of the schedule, two hours a day. Oh well, I guess if you want to make a million you have to put some effort into it.

Actually, the real effort had been put in the past 32 years. That’s when I started studying baseball boxscores in earnest. I had no inclination towards betting on baseball games at the time, but those formative years gave me a real "feel" for the game. It was not until maybe five years ago that I started to look at prognosticating the outcomes of ball games as being a viable means of not only entertainment, but also income. In other words, bet for fun and moola.

With each of the past five baseball seasons as I played with my numbers and theories, regardless of the time of season in which I would begin, I would always discover consistencies and successful plays. However, except for a couple of very minor forays with Internet Off-Shore Books, I never truly put the ideas to a test.

This year will be DIFFerent. This year will not engage a "hindsight is 20-20" approach which predicts after the fact a certain method of bets. This year I will write down ahead of time the bets to be laid, on paper that will be kept in a file for verification of facts.
